The Bulgarian Shogi Association (who will apply before the end of the year for FESA membership) and Promote Shogi in Europe, with the support of the Federation of European Shogi Associations (FESA), proudly present:
1st Shogi Clash of Varna
Format: MacMahon tournament, 8 rounds , open to anyone
if the number of players is limited to 4, then a two-rounds qualification matches will be run, and in the second day there will be the finals and the clash for third place
Tournament Director: Ermanno Bozzali (Promote Shogi in Europe)
Main Referee: Ermanno Bozzali (Promote Shogi in Europe)
Second Referee: Uwe Frischmuth (Promote Shogi in Europe, President of Shogi Germany, member of FESA)
All games will be FESA rated
Thinking time: 20 minutes per player plus 40 seconds Byoyomi
The tournament director may decide for a different thinking time, most likely the second day of the event: 45 minutes plus 40 seconds Byoyomi
To guarantee fair matches, handicap FESA rules will be applied, at tournament director’s discretion
